The Role Summary:

As a Production Engineer, you will be setting up and operating audio-visual and lighting equipment to deliver technical production services within the events and entertainment industry for a range of clients across multiple sectors.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prep and test equipment ready for events.

• Load vans or trucks and travel to events.

• Set up and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting systems.

• Operate audio, video, and lighting systems.

• Work individually or as a team.

• Work closely with a client to understand expectations and requirements.

• Perform basic repairs on equipment and cabling.

• Participate in job planning and system design.

• Participate in Electrical and LOLER testing.

Essential Skills:

• Driving Licence.
• Have good communication & organisation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to problem solve.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
• Working knowledge of industry-standard audio, video, and lighting systems.
• Understanding of power distribution systems; BS7909 Desirable Qualifications/experience.
• Must have a Degree in AV related discipline or 3 years of demonstrable industry experience.
• IPAF (desirable).
• Rigging certificate or experience.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of basic video principles – e.g. video formats, resolutions, signal flow, EDID.
• Good working knowledge of operation, set up and safe use of projection and screen systems owned by d&b solutions – Barco, Canon.
• Good working knowledge of the operation of image processing and transmission systems – Barco, Extron, Lightware, Kramer, Analog Way.
• Understanding of media servers, video production and playback systems inc. QLab, ProPresenter, Watchout, Disguise, vMix.
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint & Apple Keynote.
• Basic understanding of video codecs and file formats/wrappers
• Understanding of live streaming encoders.
