
Production Technician/Engineer (Video)
The Role Summary:
As a Production Engineer, you will be setting up and operating audio-visual and lighting equipment to deliver technical production services within the events and entertainment industry for a range of clients across multiple sectors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prep and test equipment ready for events.
- Load vans or trucks and travel to events.
- Set up and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting systems.
- Operate audio, video, and lighting systems.
- Work individually or as a team.
- Work closely with a client to understand expectations and requirements.
- Perform basic repairs on equipment and cabling.
- Participate in job planning and system design.
- Participate in Electrical and LOLER testing.

Essential Skills:
- Driving Licence.
- Have good communication & organisation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good time management.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard audio, video, and lighting systems.
- Understanding of power distribution systems; BS7909 Desirable Qualifications/experience.
- Must have a Degree in AV related discipline or 3 years of demonstrable industry experience.
- IPAF (desirable).
- Rigging certificate or experience.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of basic video principles – e.g. video formats, resolutions, signal flow, EDID.
- Good working knowledge of operation, set up and safe use of projection and screen systems owned by d&b solutions – Barco, Canon.
- Good working knowledge of the operation of image processing and transmission systems – Barco, Extron, Lightware, Kramer, Analog Way.
- Understanding of media servers, video production and playback systems inc. QLab, ProPresenter, Watchout, Disguise, vMix.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint & Apple Keynote.
- Basic understanding of video codecs and file formats/wrappers
- Understanding of live streaming encoders.
