Sky Sports Studio: Monday Night Football
London
The Project
Sky Sports wanted to transform two studios at its West London campus into a single mixed-reality space for immersive broadcasts like Monday Night Football and the US Open.
The Brief
Aiming for full AR and VR integration, they turned to d&b for consultancy, technology, and ongoing support, building on d&b’s award-winning work in virtual sports broadcasting. Sky Sports aimed to blend sports coverage, entertainment, and data insight in a dynamic new studio using AR, innovative lighting, and LED technology.
The Solution
d&b delivered a fully integrated, immersive studio experience, installing over 200 ROE Ruby curved LED panels and 100 ROE Black Marble floor panels to create a high-performance mixed-reality studio for Sky Sports.
Powered by Megapixel VR’s HELIOS processing platform and supported by 15 real-time engines and advanced tracking systems, the studio enables immersive 360° visuals, including a dynamic ‘4th wall’ and ceiling set extensions. The LED floor and walls support interactive sports analysis, live data, and dramatic visual storytelling, while MNF’s upgraded touchscreen, developed with Rezzil, integrates live tracking and virtual replays from players’ perspectives.
