The Project
Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is a multi-purpose venue that delivers outstanding experiences. Their Pentland Suite is a flexible raked auditorium, that can be sub-divided into three separate areas; each functioning independently or as a consolidated unit. Despite the hardware’s steadfast durability, the system needed upgrading.
The Brief
d&b solutions were invited to design and integrate a replacement speaker system, delivering exceptional quality of sound.
The Solution
The integration comprised d&b audiotechnik products, using A-Series augmented array loudspeakers for consistent audio coverage that can be precisely tuned to the room’s varying setups. Slimline 24c column speakers with adjustable angles provides small scale intelligibility boosting to amplify the voice within the smaller lecture theatres. 40D amplifiers drive the complete audio system, boasting high efficiency and energy saving functionality. R1 software facilitates custom presets, enabling easy configuration for varying setups. The entire install blends cohesively with the interiors for a flawless backdrop, whilst perfectly aligning with EICC’s sustainability aspirations.
